Bikins can be bought in many different colours or with different patterns and designs. Bikins are made from two pieces of material with one piece covering the breast and the other covering the groin area. A bikini is usually made from polyester as this type of material allows for quick drying and is ideal when worn for swimming and sunbathing.
Bikinis are now one of the most worn female beachwear styles throughout the world. There is also a male version of the bikini, this is called a Mankini and was made popular in the film Borat. A mankini, is far less popular for men than the bikini is for women and is often thought of as a humorous item of clothing.
